Introducing...
Earl the Squirrel
Earl arrived at the Chamber office on the Fourth of July and he is truly an independent little critter. You can find him perched on his favorite branch in an old tree outside the Chamber office, checking out the traffic on Lafayette Street. Earl is so big that you can see him while you are driving past the Chamber Offices at 125 N. Lafayette in the heart of downtown South Lyon.
We had no idea that squirrels keep bankers hours, but you can find Earl stationed by his post in our front flower bed from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 daily. We maintain a squirrel buffet for Earl, which he shares with several birds, a family of chipmunks and his side-kick, Girl Squirrel. When the buffet runs out, Earl will peer into the Chamber window or knock on our front door to remind Chamber staff that he is hungry.
Earl has greeted many visitors to the Chamber Office and has many fans. Punxsutawney has their groundhog, South Lyon has their squirrel. When you see our fat old squirrel sitting in the sun, you know that its going to be a good day.
